Dr. Tom Bourdon is a well-respected consultant, trainer, and speaker in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.  He began his own independent consulting practice after successfully leading and growing Greater Boston PFLAG (the largest PFLAG chapter in the country) as the organization’s Executive Director.  Prior to GBPFLAG he spent over a decade focusing on diversity and inclusion-related work in higher education, having served as the Director of the LGBT Center and Co-Chair of the Social Justice Leadership Initiative at Tufts University and doing similar work at UCLA and NYU (prior to Tufts).

Creating more inclusive spaces is not only Bourdon’s work, but also his passion. He sees it as changing lives—and in a larger sense changing the world—for the better. Having spent a great deal of his career in the field of higher education allowed him to be surrounded by brilliant minds and critical thinkers, honing his skills in program development/delivery, facilitation, training, support services, and creating systemic cultural change. As Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG, he focused on impact analysis, project and talent management, strategic planning, targeted messaging,  stakeholder engagement, the facilitation of for-profit/non-profit partnerships, and in simplest terms—making sure the organization was the best it could be.

Bourdon is a consummate professional motivated by his drive to create more inclusion, equity, and positive change in the world.  His consulting practice is focused on Diversity & Inclusion as well as LGBTQ issues.

Diversity & Inclusion: Bourdon supports companies with strategy, hiring, group facilitation, employee resource groups (ERGs), climate assessment, employee/customer satisfaction, setting and exceeding D&I goals, and being an employer of choice.

LGBTQ: Bourdon is a seasoned LGBTQ expert with a strong track record as a leader, educator, advocate, facilitator, support person, trainer, coach and consultant. In addition to the specific D&I roles listed above, Bourdon also helps develop/deliver LGBTQ workshops and trainings and is often asked to deliver keynote addresses.

Bourdon received his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University, his Masters of Education from UCLA, and his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Babson College. He received his certification in Life Coaching from New York University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his husband and their 6 and 4 year old children, Lukas and Maya.
